Kabir Sahib's Speech (Kabir Vani) on Magnificence of Guru and Naam

Kabir Sahib's Speech (Kabir Vani) on Magnificence of Guru and Naam

Kabir Sahib is saying that without the name of God, a king will become a donkey where a potter will make him work endlessly and no one will offer him food (grass).

Kabir Sahib says that you consider Ram and Krishan to be superior but they also made Guru. They were the master of 3 loks (3 worlds - Swarg, Pataal and Prithvi) but in front of a Guru they were humble.

Kabir Sahib is saying here that Sukhdev was doing worship without a Guru and once when he went to Baikunth Lok (Lok of Vishnu ji), because of not having a Guru, he was sent back to earth.

Sukhdev was told that he could not enter Baikunth lok because he does not have a Guru. On returning back to earth, he made King Janak as his Guru and then he became worthy of going to Baikunth Lok.

Kabir Sahib says that those who do not have a Satguru (a True Guru), they go to the door of hell.

In the hell, the messengers of Yam (doot - yamdoot) torment the soul and the soul is unable to free itself from them and then keeps wandering in the four divisions (animals, birds, aquatic creatures and reptiles).

Wandering in these four divisions, a soul never attains liberation. All this wandering can come to an end by the grace of a Satguru (Ture Guru).

Here Kabir Sahib is narrating the magnificence of a True Guru that even if you make ink from the entire water of seven oceans, make a pen/pencil using the wood from all the trees on the entire earth and make paper out of the whole surface of earth, then also one cannot write the properties or qualities of a True Guru (Satguru). It would still fall short.

Kabir Sahib is stressing upon the importance of a Guru and saying that those who did worship as directed by a complete Guru got liberated whereas the ones who were just worshipping the God remained in the circle of life and death.

Explaining further, Kabir Sahib is saying that God and Guru both are standing side by side, whom should one prostrate. One should be grateful to a Guru as a result of which the soul happened to unite with God.

kabir Sahib is saying that if your God has become upset then go in to the refuge of a true Guru but if your Guru has become upset then there is no respite and in that case not even God can help you.
